Nursing is an undergraduate degree course which is focusing on preparing talented nursing professionals. This course is designed to enhance nursing skills which aim at creating nurses who are professionals and experts in working at hospitals. It is a paramedical course with a duration of four years, and it’s approval from TNNMC. The course focuses mainly on the basics of Nursing, Human Anatomy, Nutrition, Microbiology, etc. A large number of students are passing out every year as B.Sc Nurse. Nursing course is available in every Place in Tamil Nadu. The course fee varies up to two lakhs per year. The basic eligibility criteria for admission are having 50% of marks with science subject in higher secondary. The admission process of this course by mainly NEET. Scope of Nursing Course

The World Health Organization (WHO) report, State of the World's Nursing, estimates there was a global shortage of 5.9 million nurses in 2018, a slight improvement from the 6.6 million shortage in 2016. B.SC NURSING ELIGIBILITY IN TAMIL NADU

Candidates for admission to the course are required to fulfil the following minimum eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc., Degree course in Nursing (Basic) should have passed the qualifying examinations (Academic Stream) after period of 12 years of study with the following subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
  • Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the institution a certificate of medical fitness from an authorized medical officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course.
  • The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) / Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree Examinations (10+2) / An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum 40% aggregate marks (PCBE); for SC/ST candidates – the minimum percentage of marks is 35%.

B.SC NURSING ADMISSION PROCESS

  • Admissions to the course will be based on the admission guidelines as defined by the medical college. Some colleges may conduct their own entrance exam to shortlist candidates, while, others may take admissions based on the merit of the candidates.
  • The candidates can also have to sit for the Entrance Exams conducted by the individual universities/college in accordance with their own admission procedure.
